Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am 28 years old and originally from Stratford, ON. I am currently living in Whitehorse, Yukon and have lived here for just over four years. I moved to Whitehorse for its incredible outdoor community and opportunities. I was fortunate enough to get a job as a Paramedic. I work shift work which makes my training schedule a little unorthodox but has me well adapted to staying up all night, which has helped me during 24-hour adventure races.
During my undergrad, at the University of Toronto, where I studied Kinesiology, I was on the Nordic Ski team for four years and the captain for the last two years. After completing my undergrad I went to Flemming College in Peterborough to train as a paramedic. Colleges in Ontario unfortunately do not have ski teams so I decided to join the cross country running team, something I did a lot of in high school. I am also on an adventure racing team “The Warriors”, which includes a group of my closest friends/ teammates from high school. I am also passionate about kiteboarding, downhill skiing, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, canoeing and just about any activity that involves the outdoors.
What are you working toward in 2020:
After the 2019 season I had shoulder surgery, having previously dislocated my left shoulder 9 times. I was not sure what the surgery would bring and had my concerns about participating in races in 2020. Luckily the surgery went incredibly well and I was on the treadmill power walking just days post-op. I quickly signed up for a few races and am excited for 2020. My goals are to continue to improve shoulder strength and mobility, not to fall and to post some great results.

Why Hammer? What are your favourite Hammer fuels/supplements?
I have really struggled with my fueling in the past leading to epic bonks in adventure racing, cramping and upset stomach during ultra-running. Hammer has helped me deal with some of these issues and as I continue to learn and experiment with Hammer products, I have grown more confident in my nutrition at every race.
Hammer Gel Peanut Butter: Gels are great for easy, lightweight calories for races of any distance and who doesn’t love peanut butter.
Perpetuem Caffe Latte: Staple for adventure racing and ultra-running, my go too for exercise over two hours. The caffeine adds a nice added boost!
Recoverite Chocolate- Great for easy post workout recovery when you don’t have the time to cook up a meal.
